Private Trimming Course
These comprehensive private lessons will give you the skills needed to confidently assess and evaluate a horse's hoof care needs and trim to achieve natural hoof mechanics and function based on each horse's individual conformation and hoof shape. A private course course is ideal for someone interested in trimming their own horses or for someone already trimming that just wants to make sure they are headed in the right direction. They can also be a stepping point for those interested in trimming as a professional. All courses include follow-up telephone and email consultations and advice, and we have a public Facebook group for students to share pictures, ask for advice and get help. Included in all private lessons is our Online Hoof Theory Course.
Private trimming courses are structured so that you can build your own course to suit your needs.
I understand that taking a week off of work to take the 6 day course isn't always feasible and this is where this private option can be a good choice. Customize the lessons to fit around your schedule and perhaps even split it up to cover a couple of weekends or holidays so that you don't have to take time off of work. I have done private courses on consecutive weekends, over a long weekend or even on holidays if my schedule allows. Private courses do not include tools or the massage therapist guest lecture, but participants can camp onsite and bring their own horses similar to the 6 day course if desired.
