This 3 module course is designed as an add on course to our original Online Anatomy, Theory and Barefoot Trimming Course. It explores in depth the pathology of Laminitis and Founder, the differences between the two and the rehab process.
Founder is one of the most common hoof pathologies I see on a regular basis, and it is also one of the most difficult to rehab. Often times progress is slow and can be marred by a one step forward, two steps back type of scenario. Because it is so prevalent and because there is so much misinformation out there I decided it required a separate course to go further in depth to help horse owners gain a more thorough understanding of the causes, effects and the rehab techniques needed overcome it.
Laminitis is something I see less commonly, but because people often confuse the terms laminitis and founder I thought this course would be an appropriate time to explore it as well.

What people are saying about the new course:
I was lucky enough to take the 6 day course at Okanagan School Of Natural Hoof Care a couple of years ago, and it really opened up some new doors for me and my career! So when I saw she was coming out with a new online course, specific to founder and laminitis, I definitely wanted to get my foot in that door! This course is very well laid out and super easy to follow. She provides loads of personal experience and tons of detail and information accompanied by images and diagrams to give you the best visuals possible! Kristi's approach is very open and honest, and she truly does put her students, and the horses she cares for in her best interest, and this course just oozes with proof of that. Thank you OKSNHC for yet again, providing another opportunity of education for this, and many other, horse crazy fanatics!

Even if I wasn’t already interested in learning about laminitis and founder, I would have found this course very useful. It’s an easy read with excellent illustrations and photographs. Most importantly, the course takes a common sense approach to simplifying a complicated subject in ways that make it easier to understand and retain information in the context of hoof function and the whole horse.

While it is not a prerequisite that you purchase the original course before this one, it is highly recommended as the basic anatomy and function will not be covered again, instead we will dive deeper into the pathology and discuss more detailed trimming and rehabilitation plans specific to laminitis and founder.
